- enjoy the breathtaking view of the entire South Pacific metropolis with its volcanic islands in the Hauraki Gulf (America’s Cup venue) directly from the 328m high Skytower – after a ride in the glass elevator up to the rotating viewing platform.
- Experience the living history of New Zealand and the Polynesian culture of the first settlers, the Maori in the modern Auckland Museum. Here we see original tribal houses and if you like, you can join an earthquake simulation.
- You also have the opportunity to see penguins and the originals of the first South Pole expeditions in the Antarctic Center. On a fascinating walk through a glass tunnel (the first of its kind in the world) you will marvel at elegant rays and gigantic sharks live. You become part of this underwater world.
You will walk up to the summit of Auckland’s highest point, the volcanic crater of Mt. Eden from where you get a breathtaking view over the city. We drive along Tamaki Dr to historic Bastion Point, a place full of historical importance to both Maori and Europeans. Just around the corner we explore the Orakei Maori Marae for insights into the local Maori culture. From here you can also enjoy beautiful views of our youngest volcano ‘Rangitoto Island’ and the Hauraki Gulf where the America’s Cup is held. Marvel at ancient, spectacular trees in the Auckland Domain and the amazing Winter Gardens before we drop you off at your Auckland city location or cruise terminal.
