Day 3 – Dunedin – Te Anau
After breakfast, you will visit Larnach Castle in the morning – a historic 19th-century villa often referred to by New Zealanders as the country’s only castle. The garden is beautifully designed and offers stunning views of the Otago Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean. Afterward, you will continue with your guide to Te Anau. Along the way, you will pass deep rivers, lush fields, and nature parks.
Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland National Park and is beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Te Anau, where you can look across the lake to Mount Luxmore and the Murchison Mountains. In the evening, you will take a short boat tour on Lake Te Anau to an impressive glowworm cave. The atmosphere in the caves, with thousands of glowworms, is truly unique and will stay with you for a long time.
